Mr. John DeLucia, originally from Long Island, New York, relocated to North Carolina in 2007 to begin his career in education as a Physical Education and Health teacher at Parkwood Middle School. In 2016, he transitioned into school administration, serving as an administrator at Parkwood High School for five years.
In 2021, Mr. DeLucia joined the Piedmont community before returning to Parkwood Middle School as principal in 2022, a role in which he served through 2025. He is now honored to serve as the principal of Porter Ridge High School, where he is both excited and ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities of leading a large and dynamic school community.
Mr. DeLucia’s educational philosophy centers on the belief that all students can achieve success through goal-setting, focus, and perseverance. He emphasizes the importance of building meaningful relationships, unlocking potential, fostering collaboration, creating enriching educational experiences, and modeling leadership by example.
Mr. DeLucia earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications/Public Relations from The Ohio State University, a Master of Arts in Physical Education from Adelphi University, and a Postgraduate Certificate in School Administration from Wingate University.
He resides in Union County with his wife, Brittany, and their three children: son Brody and daughters Eloise and Magnolia.
Mrs. Alejandra Elliott brings over 14 years of dedicated service to Union County Public Schools. She spent the last decade as the International Baccalaureate (IB) Spanish teacher at Marvin Ridge High School, building a reputation for academic excellence and student engagement. Her experience spans elementary, middle, and high school levels, giving her a deep understanding of students’ needs at every stage.
During the 2023–2024 school year, Mrs. Elliott served as the Assistant Principal Intern at Marvin Ridge High School, where she became an integral part of the administrative team. She successfully led large initiatives, strengthened school programs, and represented the school at the district level. Now in her second year as an Assistant Principal with Union County Public Schools, Mrs. Elliott remains committed to fostering a learning environment where every student can thrive. She believes that all students can excel academically when given the necessary tools, strong foundations, and supportive teachers who create safe, engaging classrooms.
Mrs. Elliott is a proud graduate of ICESI University in Cali, Colombia, where she earned a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing. Before moving to the United States, she served as the Regional Sales Manager for JGB, a leading South American pharmaceutical company. Upon relocating, she obtained her teaching license from UNC Charlotte and later earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Wingate University in Wingate, NC.
Outside of school, Mrs. Elliott enjoys spending time with her two children, a 10th grader and a 9th grader, especially at their sporting events. She is passionate about soccer and proudly supports both the Colombian National Team and the United States Soccer Team. An avid traveler, she loves exploring new cultures and experiences. In her spare time, she tutors AP Spanish students and cherishes her tradition of sharing an afternoon cafecito with family and friends.
Dr. Josh Wall is in his fourth year as an assistant principal at Porter Ridge High School. He is a 22-year Union County Public Schools employee and previously served as a social studies teacher and student council adviser at Sun Valley High (10 years) and as an assistant principal at Central Academy of Technology & Arts (8 years). He has served in public education for 25 years as a teacher and administrator.
Dr. Wall graduated from Gardner-Webb University with a degree in social science. In addition, he has a master’s degree in political science from Appalachian State University and an educational specialist degree (Ed.S.) and a doctorate in educational leadership (Ed.D) from Wingate University. Dr. Wall earned his teaching certification from Greensboro College. His first teaching position was at Western Guilford High in Greensboro, along with his twin sister, Jennifer (who is still teaching Spanish).
Dr. Wall loves spending time with his family. He is currently serving a term as the Western District Director of the North Carolina Association of Student Councils and previously officiated football as a head linesman or line judge for the North Carolina High School Athletic Association.
